Claudia and Hedvig pictured are international students from Spain/Poland and Hungary respectively who found each other at university. They were just enjoying an episode of Hilda when they suddenly fell down a rabbit hole at the end of it. They’ve both become fascinated by AVO-8s history, music and just general vibes. They’ve read through our entire website and were just amazed! We sent them T-Shirts all the way to Denmark and here they are wearing them proudly. Delighted to hear from you. xx AVO-8

I know we missed all the tributes to David’s birthday last week, but just remebered our Bowie moment from way back when and enjoyed listening to our ‘Hang On To Yourself’ … like Bowie, but on large quantities of industrial strength speed!

We are amazed and delighted to see our song ‘Big Car’, from back in 1989, being used in the brilliant ‘Hilda’ animated series on Netflix! In the latest series 3, episode 6, Hilda and her mother drive away (in a Big Car!) and the song is played at the end and over the credits. What a surprise and a joy! Thanks to all involved in making this happen. Love it! See a wee video clip showing that below. xx AVO-8.

The Guilty was the school band formed in 1977 by the people that eventually brought you AVO-8. Original members were Steve Hastie (guitar), Kenny Gourlay (drums), Keith Miller (guitar), George Glen (bass) and Tim Foley (vocals). Keith took over bass when George left then shared vocals with Steve when Tim left  (both in 1978). Later in 1979 Kenny and Steve formed AVO-8 (MK1) with Jon McCluskey on bass. No pics from that time but  we have a rough but faithful recording of the final 3 peice line-up in rehearsal at St Martins church hall in 1978.

Man Of Moon gave another great performance in front of a packed Usher Hall late last year supporting The Twilight Sad. Fleur Neale is a super photographer and kindly allowed us to share her brilliant shots including Michael’s AVO-8 T-shirt!
